BACKGROUND
These are some of the jobs I've worked at in my past and learned so very much while I was there. These positions helped me to extend my knowledge of trusses further in depth than I had when I was building trusses at my dad's shop.
When working at Truswal I reviewed upwards of 800 roof and floor truss designs from truss company's sent in from most of the Western United States. I reviewed trusses to catch problems that customers encountered but also to find areas that the truss design software wasn't able to analyze correctly so would run calculations to apply loads to correct those issues and send the designs on to the engineers to seal.
At Universal Forest Products I started in typical house roof and floor truss designs but because of my background of truss engineering review and understanding of loads I worked in Commercial and Multifamily truss designs.
At Simpson Strong-Tie I worked as a truss software design trainer and technical support of the truss software. I would travel to customers truss companies all over the country and in Alaska and Canada. I would train them on the truss design software to be able to design trusses for manufacturing but would also help them to solve truss related issues not only with problems in the software and also to solve issues they had on the jobs they were working on.
